Privacy Policy

EquestrianIQ is a private, rider-owned journal built by BlackGranite AI Systems. This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. This policy is effective as of August 12, 2026.

By using EquestrianIQ, you agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication details. If you sign in through Google Firebase, we also receive the information you choose to share through that sign-in method.

Journal and training content. The core of EquestrianIQ is the content you enter, including horse profiles, ride logs, notes, goals, gratitude entries, training plans, and any coach input you choose to record.

User-uploaded files. You may upload images, documents, and audio recordings to support your journal entries. These files are stored for you and are only processed for the purposes you request.

Subscription and purchase information. We collect and maintain your subscription status, trial eligibility, and purchase history. On iOS, actual payment processing is handled by Apple; we receive transaction information from RevenueCat and, for existing web billing, from Whop.

Support and feedback content. When you contact support or submit feedback, we collect the content of your message, your email address, and any attachments or screenshots you choose to include.

Technical and security logs. We collect limited device and diagnostic information needed to operate the service, maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues. This may include app version, device type, crash logs, and IP address.

Provide and sync the service. We use your information to create and maintain your account, store and synchronize your journal across devices, and deliver the features you use.

Personalize riding insights. We process your training content to surface patterns, summaries, and reminders that help you build on previous rides and coaching sessions.

AI generation and transcription. When you explicitly request AI assistance, such as transcribing an audio note or generating training guidance, we send only the content needed for that operation to OpenAI. We do not send your content to AI providers automatically or for purposes unrelated to your request.

Process subscriptions. We use purchase and subscription information to manage your access, trials, billing status, and entitlements.

Support and communication. We use your contact information to respond to support requests, send service-related notices, and communicate important updates about the app.

Security and legal compliance. We use technical and security data to protect accounts, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, and comply with applicable laws.

EquestrianIQ includes optional AI features that process content only when you choose to use them. For example, you may ask the app to summarize a ride, suggest a training focus, or transcribe an audio note.

When you use an AI feature, only the content required for that specific request is sent to OpenAI. We instruct our providers to process the content solely to fulfill your request and not to use it to train their models.

You should avoid including unnecessary sensitive information, such as government identifiers, financial account numbers, or detailed medical information, in journal entries or AI requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

We share information only with service providers that help us operate EquestrianIQ, and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their services. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we authorize.

Google Firebase provides authentication, database, and cloud storage services for EquestrianIQ.

OpenAI provides AI generation and transcription services when you explicitly request those features.

RevenueCat and Apple manage iOS subscriptions and in-app purchases.

Whop manages existing web-based billing and membership access.

Hosting and infrastructure providers deliver the website, backend services, and email delivery needed to operate the app.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as reasonably needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or comply with legal obligations.

You can initiate account deletion from within the EquestrianIQ app. When you delete your account, we remove or de-identify your personal information and journal content, subject to legal, security, or operational exceptions that require limited retention.

Deleting your EquestrianIQ account does not automatically cancel an active Apple App Store subscription. You must manage and cancel iOS subscriptions directly through your Apple ID settings.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. This includes encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews.

No system is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe, using a strong password, and maintaining the security of the devices you use to access EquestrianIQ.

EquestrianIQ is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses and provider security commitments, to protect your information when it is transferred internationally.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the current version was published.
